Lou laughed, nuzzling into her hair. "No I won't. I can fix her. I already fixed her so she can't fly away. See?" He pointed to the bloody torn off wings, grinning.

The girl paused, slightly taken aback "Well, that is very unpleasant. You really do have an odd way of expressing your affection. Do all demons mutilate their lover's corpse, or is it a habit unique to yourself?"

Lou frowned. "I didn't mutilate her! I made sure she couldn't leave me again!" he was trembling, blinking rapidly and muttering under his breath, hugging Pixie tightly before Bruno hit him with the gun and he slumped over Pixie's body. "Take... the... body.."he gasped out, attempting a gruesome smile

The girl looked at Bruno uncertainly but tugged Pixie's hand impatiently "Come along, gallowglass. We have much to do before sundown." Pixie sat up and rubbed her forehead "Oh... Hello, Oriel. It's a pleasure to see you again. Have you come to capture me again?"

Bruno picked Lou up and set him in a chair, then handed Pixie her wings. "He... did not.. know... what he was... doing." he paused, trying to get the words out. "Don't... be... mad.. at.. him. He thought he... was helping.."

Pixie looked somewhat disgusted at first the wings, then Lou. She tucked the wings under her arm as Oriel counted the scars that ran down her forearm "I would say you have escaped us... twelve times. Let us hope that there is no thirteenth escape." Pixie just laughed and they both vanished.

Pixie ran until the soles of her feet bled, until she couldn't.breathe, until black spots danced across her vision. Finally, she came to a large pulsing portal. She whispered "Take me to safety." before hurling herself through.
